Social Media Day OC

I had the pleasure of attending #smdayoc in Santa Ana today representing Guinevere Communications (@GuinComm)! This was my first social media event and I didn’t really know what to expect. I realized when I got to the Orange County Register building that my camera didn’t have the memory card in it so cellphone pictures had to do. I got there a little bit early because I had been keeping up with the Meetup page and read that seating might be limited.

We got there and at the right time because not many people had taken seats yet. While we were waiting @CBRELongBeach did some flip interviews of some of the people in attendance. We we lucky enough to be one of those people. I will post the video in my next blog. Things started off a little late but soon enough the speakers started.

Above is a slide from one of the speaker, @RochelleVeturis speaking about “Putting a personal touch behind your social media efforts.” For more information about the speakers and their topics go here.

Above is a outside the building. There were food trucks ready for people to get a snack during the break. During the break I had a chance to stop by the Symbaloo tent and speak with @kimmiechann and get a demo. They were kind enough to give me an awesome tote bag and sticker! Thanks Symbaloo!

Here is a picture of my boyfriend Brian (@AlienboyP) during the break. Social Media Day OC was a great success. Such a large turn out. I feel so pumped about social media and I am so happy to see that other people feel the same way. Thanks OC Register for hosting, all of the wonderful speakers and Mashable for starting the day. I hope you were able to attend #smday meetups in your area. I want to hear all about your events! Don’t forget to follow me on Twitter to see of my tweets from the day @gwenifer84.
